Deekhsharambh-2025-26

The Department of Education, organized ‘Deeksharambh’ (Student Induction Programme)on 8th November 2025 to welcome the newly admitted B.Ed. students. The official ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Principal, Vice Principal and HOD of the Education Department. At first the HOD, Dr. R Gayatri Iyengar welcomed the students and emphasized the importance of the B.Ed. programme. The Principal, Dr. Kuldeep Dubey, addressed the gathering, highlighting the vision and mission of the college and encouraging students to adopt a positive and professional attitude toward the teaching profession.

Following the formal induction, the second session was Fresher’s Party, organized by the senior B.Ed. students to warmly welcome their juniors. The event featured engaging cultural performances, fun games, and dance-drama and many more that added to the glory of the function. Titles such as Mr. Fresher and Miss Fresher were awarded to the most talented newcomers. The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by the senior class representative which was followed by refreshments, marking the day as a memorable beginning of the academic journey for the new batch.


Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan , launched in2014, continues to serve as a national movement inspiring collective actiontowards cleanliness, sanitation, and environmental sustainability. In alignmentwith this vision, the Department of Education at St. Vincent Pallotti Collegecollaborated with the Government Primary School, Khaprabhattti, and conductedAwareness rally, that created a vibrant atmosphere of enthusiasm and unity,inspiring the local community to actively participate in maintaining a cleanand healthy environment. Skit and Special class on cleanliness, health andhygiene was also conducted by teacher trainees demonstrating their commitmentin promoting hygiene, social awareness, and community well-being througheducation.

 

As part of the program, thestudent-teachers also conducted activities such as Poster displays, shorttalks, proper handwashing steps, personal hygiene talk, hygiene Pledge ceremonyand awareness rally in collaboration with the Internship schools to spread themessage of cleanliness and responsible civic behavior. This collaborativeendeavour reflected the harmonious integration of academic learning with socialresponsibility, emphasizing the role of future educators in shaping a moreconscious and sustainable society. The event stood as a testament to theinstitution’s dedication to the ideals of the Swachh Bharat Mission,symbolizing the collective effort of youth to inspire positive change andcontribute meaningfully towards sustainable community development.


Community Activity

The Community activity conducted at the AakanshaInstitute of Learning and Empowerment makes a significant step towardspromoting inclusion and providing support for individuals with diverseabilities. Renowned for its work, the institute focuses on addressing the needsof individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, DeafBlindness, Visual Impairments and other disabilities. Its comprehensiveapproach emphasizes educators, empowerment and skill development, making it abeacon of hope for many families and communities. The students of B.Ed SemesterI visited the institute on 14th. October 2025. 

As per the requirements of the communityactivity, it was necessary for the students of Education to understand therunning of an educational institute and in this case, the institution providesvery tangible and substantial idea of dealing and educating children, who areintellectually a bit weak. The modules they used, the teaching patterns theyexecuted and the special care to each individual were some of the key aspectswhich contribute to the purpose of visiting such facility. The students weredivided into small units of 10. These groups were assigned a task each, which didas a whole batch, but led, by the respective unit. There were variousactivities performed, in the School like Action song, Painting, Art and Craft,Dance, Games etc. The event successfully embodied the spirit of communityservice, fostering creativity and learning among students.                                                                     

 


Nai Talim: Handicrafts For Sustainable Entrepreneurship "सृजनोत्सव"

The Department of Education, organized an Exhibition-cum-Sale titled “Nai -Talim: Handicrafts for Sustainable Entrepreneurship”. It aimed to encourage B.Ed. students to understand the concept of sustainable entrepreneurship, integrate creative handicraft skills with educational practices, and foster an appreciation for handmade products that support local art and self-employment. The program was inaugurated with ribbon-cutting ceremony by Principal Dr. Kuldeep Dubey, Vice  Principal Dr. G. Padma Gouri, and Head of the Department of Education Dr. R. Gayatri Iyengar.

The event began with the welcoming of dignitaries, followed by an inspiring address by the Principal, who emphasized the relevance of Gandhian philosophy and Nai Talimin promoting self-reliance through skill-based learning. A vote of thanks marked the conclusion of the formal inauguration, after which the exhibition and sale were opened to all. Valuable Feedback was taken through QR code. The dignitaries and students expressed that the event promoted hands-on experience in planning, designing, marketing, and selling hand made products, thereby enhancing their entrepreneurial mindset and understanding of value-based education. The event successfully embodied the spirit of Nai Talimfostering creativity, self-reliance, and entrepreneurial learning among students.


One-Week Induction Program



The Department of Education conducted a one-week Induction Program for the students of B.Ed. Semester I from 22/09/2025 to 27/09/2025. The program was designed to help students become familiar with the college environment, teaching-learning resources, and overall academic and co-curricular facilities. It aimed to give students a strong and smooth start to their teacher education journey.

The objective of the program was to introduce students to academic subjects, college clubs, and community resources, while also fostering teamwork and communication skills. On Day 1, students explored and mapped the available resources. Day 2 focused on Introduction to morning prayer and group formation. Day 3 included induction of various subjects, Day 4presented various clubs and their activities, Day 5 involved ice-breaking exercises to strengthen peer interaction, and Day 6 concluded with a story telling workshop that highlighted creative and participatory learning.

In conclusion, the Induction Program successfully helped students understand the college environment, engage with peers and faculty, and take part in interactive and practical activities. It not just enhanced their confidence but also motivated them to actively participate in academic and co-curricular opportunities in the coming semesters.


Educational Games and Toys Exhibition



The Department of Education organized an Educational Games and Toys Exhibition on 26th July 2025, exhibiting innovative and interactive teaching-learning aids developed by the B.Ed. students of semester III. The event aimed to highlight the importance of experiential learning and to encourage creative approaches in education.

The exhibition was visited by the Director, Principal, Vice Principal, teachers and students of other departments with great interest. The Principal appreciated the initiative and emphasized the role of educational tools in making learning more engaging for students across all age groups.

A large variety of models of educational games and toys were displayed, covering a wide range of subjects such as Mathematics, Science, Languages, Social Studies, and Environmental Education. Each display was designed with a focus on child-centered pedagogy, hands-on learning, and inclusive education. Highlights included:

·        Math Board Games to teach basic arithmetic in a fun and interactive way.

·        Puzzle-based Learning Tools for improving logical thinking.

·        Language Learning Cards and Role-play Kits to enhance vocabulary and communication.

·        Science Experiment Kits demonstrating basic principles of physics and chemistry.

The B.Ed. students demonstrated their models and explained how these tools can be integrated into classroom teaching to improve student engagement and understanding.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs Ramola Dan, who appreciated the efforts of the students and acknowledged the faculty involved in organizing the exhibition.


Certificate Course on Theatre Arts

The Department of Education conducted a one-week Certificate Course on Theatre Arts for the students of B.Ed. Semester III from 14th July to 25th July,2025. The course was facilitated by Mr. Kapil Dhangar, a professional trainer from Jugnoo Acting Academy, Raipur (C.G).

Objectives of the Course:

  • To introduce the basics of theatre as a creative art form.
  • To enhance students’ communication skills, self-expression, and confidence.
  • To develop voice modulation, body language, and non-verbal expression.
  • To foster team spirit, emotional sensitivity, and imaginative thinking in future educators.

Students were engaged in a blend of the orifical inputs and practical training sessions. Daily sessions involved warm-ups, body movement training, voice exercises, improvisation, character development, and scripting. Students were actively engaged in performances that explored various educational and social themes.

Students performed short skits and dramatic scenes, applying the techniques learned throughout the week. These performances were highly appreciated by the faculty and their peers, highlighting their growth in stage presence and expressive confidence.

The certificate course proved to be a highly enriching experience for the B.Ed. students, equipping them with creative tools for classroom engagement. It also enabled them to see theatre not just as performance but as a powerful educational strategy.

 


Haritotsav – Green Starts with You

The Department of Education at St. Vincent Pallotti College organized Haritotsav on 19/07/25 to celebrate the significance of a green and sustainable environment. The event aimed to sensitize students and staff about environmental conservation and encourage them to adopt eco-friendly habits. The event was attended by Director Rev. Fr. Amit Trikey, Principal Dr. Kuldeep Dubey, Vice Principal Dr. G. Padma Gouri, Heads of Departments, faculty, and students.

Objectives:

  • To create awareness about environmental protection.
  • To encourage eco-friendly practices among students and staff.
  • To inspire responsibility towards nature.

The program included a Nukkad Natak performed by B.Ed. students highlighting the importance of protecting the environment. This was followed by a motivating speech by the Principal, Dr. Kuldeep Dubey. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating the efforts of all participants.

Conclusion:
The celebration successfully spread the message that “Green Starts with You”, inspiring everyone to take small steps for a cleaner and greener planet.

 


Active Learning Methodology (ALM)

The Department of Education successfully conducted a six-day workshop on Active Learning Methodology (ALM) for B.Ed. students from 7th July 2025 to12th July 2025. The primary objective of the workshop was to familiarize future educators with innovative, student-centered teaching strategies that promote engagement, participation, and higher-order thinking in class rooms.

Over the course of six days, interactive sessions were conducted by experienced teacher educators on various teaching techniques for active engagement learners.

The major highlights of the workshop included:

·        Introduction to the concept and principles of Active Learning Methodology

·        Hands-on training in various ALM strategies such as Think-Pair-Share, Role Play, Group Discussions, Mind Mapping, Document based Questions, Cloze test, Wh-Template and Chronologue.

·        Preparation and demonstration of the use of the technique .

·        Preparation and use of educational toys and games.

·        Peer feedback and reflective teaching practices.

Students actively participated in group tasks, lesson simulations, and discussions, making the workshop highly dynamic and learner-driven. An exhibition of the prepared materials was organized after the workshop in the college.

The workshop concluded with positive feedback from participants, who appreciated the practical exposure and its relevance to modern-day teaching-learning processes. The event reinforced the Department’s commitment to equipping student-teachers with contemporary pedagogical tools for future classrooms.
