The Special Days’Committee of St. Vincent Pallotti College, Raipur, in collaboration with the GreenArmy of Chhattisgarh, organized a meaningful celebration on the occasionof “World Conservation Day” on 12th August 2025 in the AVA room. Thetheme for the celebration was "Seed Band – Let Your Bond Grow withNature", focusing on promoting eco-friendly practices andenvironmental awareness.
The event began with a creative seedband-making activity in which students enthusiastically participated.They designed beautiful bands using seeds and other biodegradable materials,ensuring that no plastic was used. These bands symbolized a commitment tonurturing nature and fostering a deeper connection with the environment.
Principal Dr. Kuldeep Dubey, in his addresshighlighted the significance of World Conservation Day and the urgent need topreserve natural resources for a sustainable future. He emphasized the role ofyouth in protecting the environment through small but impactful actions. C.A. AmitabhDubey, Founder of the Green Army of Chhattisgarh, then addressed theaudience. In his inspiring speech, he stressed upon the importance of plantingtrees, protecting biodiversity, and completely avoiding plastic usage. Hiswords motivated students to adopt eco-friendly lifestyles and contributeactively to environmental conservation efforts. Chairman of the ChhattisgarhCore Committee of Green Army, Mr. Gurdeep Tuteja, shared information aboutvarious ongoing conservation campaigns in the state and urged the youth toparticipate more actively in them. He said, “Environmental conservation cansucceed not only through government efforts but also through the activeinvolvement of the general public, especially the youth.”
After the speeches, a band-tying activitywas held, where students tied the seed bands to each other’s wrists as asymbolic gesture of the message "Let Your Bond Grow withNature". This act reflected unity, commitment, and the sharedresponsibility to care for the planet.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signedbetween the college and the Green Army for long-term collaboration inenvironmental initiatives. Under this MOU, both institutions will cooperate inthe future on activities such as tree plantation, tree conservation, creationof green campuses, awareness campaigns, and environmental education.
The eventconcluded with renewed commitment for environmental sustainability not onlyspreading awareness about conservation but also inspiring students to takepractical steps toward environmental protection, proving that small actions canlead to big changes for the planet.
